OnePlus have no doubt has been one of the most prominent tech companies in the smartphone category. With its successful release of its OnePlus 3 and 3T, the tech titan is slated to release a new killer smartphone, the OnePlus 5.

If some people are wondering why 5 not 4, the explanation was made simple by Go Android. It was just given that OnePlus is a Chinese company so number four is considered as bad luck for them. The process is similar with Vivo not incorporating the number 4 in its devices. Yet, it is just a speculation since other Chinese tech companies like Xiaomi and Huawei had used the unlucky number before.

OnePlus 5 specs were then speculated to have a dynamic sleek ceramic design similar to the MI MIX as reported. The beast handset is also guessed to have 4000mAH of battery with Dash Charge feature. The camera was also identified to have a dynamic 23-megapixel. OnePlus 5 is then expected to run on Oxygen OS, a custom UI by OnePlus based on Android 7.0 Nougat.

Under OnePlus 5’s hood is also rumored to be the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 which is also said to be donned by the Samsung Galaxy S8. The killer device is also said to power house its performance with 6 GB of RAM or 8 GB through the support of Snapdragon 835 along with 256 GB of internal storage.

Speaking of the teaser released, PC Advisor reported that the usual smartphone specs Twitter leaker, Evan Blass had released an image regarding OnePlus 5. The image then showed a wallpaper with OnePlus’ motto “Never Settle.” The image is then perceived by others that the OnePlus will have HD resolution. Yet other speculations said that it may be a new version of OnePlus 3T.

Another tweet leak about the OnPlus 5 is from smartphone pundit David Ruddock per Phone Arena He tweeted that “I hear OnePlus could have a dark announcement sometime soon. That it might even be as Black as Midnight?” Co-founder Carl Pei then replied with a GIF of howling wolves at midnight.

Regarding the release date, OnePlus had been regarded as a company who never settles for a definite pattern of a release and launch date too. Yet, OnePlus 5 is expected to be released in May or June this year.
