New polls show Donald Trump leading President Biden in five of six battleground states ahead of the November election, states that Biden won in his previous victory over the former President in 2020. 

The New York Times, Siena College and The Philadelphia Inquirer surveys found Trump leading in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, and Pennsylvania. Biden was shown as leading in Wisconsin.

Biden won all six of those states in 2020. He would only need victories in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin in 2024 to secure his re-election, as long as he did not lose any other states he won in the last election, the New York Times reported.

Issues that are hurting Biden include the cost of living, the economy, the Israel-Hamas war and immigration.

Nearly 70 percent of registered voters polled said the country's political and economic systems need a major overhaul.

Many of the voters polled said they dislike Trump but he is more likely to improve their situation.

The surveys also found that nearly 20 percent of voters blame Biden more than Trump for the Supreme Court's decision in 2022 to overturn Roe v. Wade, according to the New York Post.

But voters prefer Biden over Trump on the issue of abortion by 11 points.

The poll results are very similar to the last ones that the Times and Siena College carried out in November.

4,097 registered voters were surveyed in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin from April 28 to May 9.
