Actor Chris Hemsworth bashed his performance in the poorly reviewed superhero movie "Thor: Love and Thunder" — and reportedly hinted he'll pick up the Norse god's hammer again as a mea culpa to his fans.

In an interview with Vanity Fair posted online Tuesday, the 40-year-old Australian agreed with critics who panned his performance in 2022's fourth installment of Marvel Studios' Thor franchise.

"I got caught up in the improv and the wackiness, and I became a parody of myself," he said. "I didn't stick the landing."

The self-critique echoed that of a New York Times review that said Hemsworth "embraces wholesale self-parody" in "Love and Thunder" and called it "sillier than any of its predecessors, and thinner."

"Love and Thunder" scored a near-failing critics' rating of 63 on the Rotten Tomatoes website, making it the worst-received of the series.

By comparison, 2011's "Thor" and 2017's "Thor: Ragnorok" were both rated "Certified Fresh," with critics' ratings of 77 and 93, respectively.

"Love and Thunder" also ranked below the 2013 sequel "Thor: Dark World," which scored a 67.

Hemsworth's remarks to Vanity Fair interview weren't first time he's acknowledged the faults of "Love and Thunder."
"I think we just had too much fun. It just became too silly," he told British GQ last year.

During that interview, Hemsworth also revealed that his kids' friends weren't impressed, quoting them as saying, "We thought this one had too much humor."

The children also complained that although "the action was cool," the visual effects "weren't as good," he said.

Hemsworth thinks he owes the audience a fifth Thor movie to make up for it, according to Vanity Fair.
