President Joe Biden says he wants to debate Donald Trump twice leading up to the November election.

The first would be in June and the second would be in September.

"Donald Trump lost two debates to me in 2020. Since then, he hasn't shown up for a debate. Now he's acting like he wants to debate me again," Biden's campaign said in a Facebook post on Wednesday morning. "Well, make my day, pal."

He challenged Trump to "pick the dates."

In a Facebook video he said, "Donald — I hear you're free on Wednesdays," alluding to Trump's criminal trial schedule.

"When I get up on stage, it'll be me and this grassroots team versus Donald Trump and his MAGA minions," Biden said.

Donald Trump responded a short time later on his Truth Social social media platform that he is game to the debates.

"I am Ready and Willing to Debate Crooked Joe at the two proposed times in June and September. I would strongly recommend more than two debates and, for excitement purposes, a very large venue, although Biden is supposedly afraid of crowds - That's only because he doesn't get them."

"Just tell me when, I'll be there," Trump continued.

CNN reported that Biden had accepted an invitation by CNN to debate Trump on June 27. Fox News says that Trump has also agreed to the CNN debate.

Biden's campaign sent a letter to the Commission on Presidential Debates on Wednesday that he would not be participating in their debates, CNN reported.
